Family Reunion Invitation Goes To 77 Million Relatives

I was amazed when I stumbled upon this story about a man embarking on a family reunion involving over 77 million relatives. How will he pull this off? Where will they meet? I admit, there is a belief in my circle of colleagues that one day we will all have enough information about our family lineage to know concisely how we are all related. A world chronological family tree, if you will, connecting us all both by blood line and the logs of history.

Today the closest thing we have to a world history and chronological log is the compilation of books we call the Holy Bible. It takes a few weeks to read the entire Bible, But it would take a lifetime to read and study the whole compilation of the book of man. How would one begin? The fact is we already have begun, just read the Bible and you will see an ancient family tree masterpiece of considerable proportions. But many have tried to take that chronology to the next level in an effort to unite the world of today. How so?

Enter Geni.com and MyHeritage. These genealogy tracking tools and family tree builders have made significant strides towards establishing wide ancestral connections. Interestingly these connections involve thousands of genealogy researchers formed over a relatively short period of time.

These applications create family trees with roots and branches extending to other family trees ultimately connecting scores of family groups together thus proving that we are all connected to a diverse and densely populated stream of cousins, nieces and nephews leading to oceans of races, cultures and beliefs. Amazed?

Consider A.J. Jacobs, satirical author of a number of books regarding his laughable self-exploration fails and successes. Jacobs took on the study of family lineage in order to rediscover and define himself in this complex world of cultural diversity. What did he find? Jacobs, a man of Jewish decent made genealogy connects to thousands of non-jewish relatives from Gwyneth Paltrow to Barak Obama and beyond. Who would think? As a matter of fact, by the time his research was done, he found that he was related to some 77 million people around the globe. He's already sent out invitations to a 2015 family reunion. A record family affair if he pulls it off. His basis; To promote human kindness.

Unveiling a common kindred cord beyond racial and cultural barriers to make people stop and reason on the value of human kindness is a noble endeavor indeed. Proof of the words I often heard spoken over satellite radio by Maya Angelou herself, "We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike."

Still, is blood line all that is needed to appeal to our humanity and unite this diverse world or is there some deeper core in our being that needs to be tapped, a spiritual commonality perhaps? That said, there are those who consider themselves related simply on the basis of a shared hope and set of basic principles they personally choose to live by. "Love conquers all." "Be peaceable with all men." "Do to others as you would have them do to you." "Freely forgive." Certainly nothing complicated in this set of principles. And what wonders they work out in our relationship with others both in the home and those we interact with in everyday life. Once the ultimate set of principles is found and lived by, we will not hesitate to admit that we are all related in every possible way.

Congratulations Jacobs on embarking upon a worldwide family reunion event. Suffice it to say the world is watching to see how this project will unfold. While our approach to uniting a diverse world may be very different, we may share a similar sentiment. "Peace to all men of goodwill."

Family Reunion T-shirts - How To Design, Order and Distribute

It's t-shirt ordering time. In this reminder we discuss why it's important to give yourself plenty of time to get your orders submitted way in advance and how to avoid having to make those last minute t-shirt size adjustments that can delay the whole distribution process.

Designing T-shirts

If you haven't completed the design, ordering and organizing of your family reunion t-shirts, now is the time to do so. Organizing t-shirts is no small task. First you want to design it. Then order one. Let the reunion planning committee see the finished product first. After they all have a good look at it and give feedback you'll have time to make the needed changes. Next start collecting orders and fees for the shirts. Finally submit the order. As you can see this takes time.

T-shirt Discounts

At this time T-shirt designers offer discounts to increase off-season sales. In addition discounts are added to bulk orders. The savings can be phenomenal. Don't be fooled by low budget t-shirt offers. Frankly some of these shirts smell of low budget ink. Others are then, hard and poorly sewn together. Your best option? Go with the t-shirt designers who are highly rated by reunion planners like us.

Organizing and Distributing T-shirts

An ideal tool to get it all done is the Family Reunion T-shirt Roster. It helps you keep up with fees, payments and distribution. The Roster is part of the web app package our reunion event planners use when organizing their shirts. It's also part of the family reunion planner spreadsheet found on the reunion planning web app interface.

Avoid Last Minute Adjustments

There's nothing worse then being told that the t-shirts sizes you ordered are too small or too big. The hard facts are people grow and shrink and get thinner or wider over time. Encouraging younger folk to order a shirt one size larger or smaller may seem to be the solution. But that depends on the changes taking place in each individuals metabolism. The real solution? Once you've completed your t-shirt design share it with all attendees using the share feature on the t-shirt designer tool bar.

Each household can order them personally and if the shirt does not fit they can order another one as needed without having to contact you. You can even set the price for your shirt and and sell it your self, adding the proceeds to the family reunion treasury.

Fimark's Family Reunion Planner Social web app has the t-shirt designer, pre-designed t-shirts and the reunion spreadsheet to get your t-shirts designed, ordered and organized in no time at all.

The Legendary Heritage Heirlooms Story

Our Story

Fimark's Legendary Heritage Heirlooms began in the year 2005. The
concept was developed by my wife Brenda and her sister Shawn who
decided to attend a Galla event by none other than Ethnic
Expressions. Inspired by their rich decor and art I encouraged
Brenda to join me in promoting our own line of fine art, greeting
cards, portraiture services and clothing line. Our cousin LaTavia
immediately came on board and the two of them proved a perfect team.

We designed a catalog, CDROM presentation, scores of original fine
art prints and an engaging and entertaining home show presentation
complete with Family oriented games, gifts and discounts. The
clientele were excited and proud to be involved. It was not long
after that we started up home shows round about Baltimore city. I
loved sharing this venture with my family.

Brenda, and her cousin LaTavia successful planned family reunions,
community outreach events, weddings, receptions and parties. So
planning these events were a breeze for them. We soon got the idea
that we should focus on reunions. Before long our
primary focus became Family Reunion event planning.

After a little brainstorming we decided to put out product line online. From that came the idea of taking Brenda's Reunion Event
Planner and turning it into a compilation of applications for download. Now we sell all of our products online at Fimark Home Online, Amazon.com, Zazzle.com and Legendary Heritage Heirlooms.

Your Feed Back
Thank you for the many expressions of gratitude regarding how many of you loved our Family Reunion Planning resource since we launched in
2005.

Happy Family Reunion Planning!

Mark & Brenda
