Warm And Toasty Fall Food Fest ideas

It's getting cold outside.  But that didn't stop us from having a fantastic outdoor Fall Food Fest last month complete with hats, gloves, scarves and a hearty bowl of vegetable soup, chili, chowder, and smores in hand. The open campfire also helped keep those red cheeks aglow.

It's a time to go outdoors and get warm and cozy with good friends, family, and savory, mouthwatering dishes you can cook at home and throw on the BBQ grill at your favorite neighborhood park or home backyard. Here are a few fantastic warm and toasty fall food fest ideas our folks are still raving about.

Sweet Potato Pecan Casserole
A mouthwatering sweet potato dish made with marshmallows and streusel.  Includes diced sweet potatoes, marshmallows and a sweet streusel sauce made from pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Mmm, mmm good!

Broccoli Bacon Cheddar Chicken
A warm and cheesy chicken dish that sticks to your ribs. Includes cheddar cheese, broccoli and chicken breast with bacon bits. Season with garlic, paprika, and onion to taste. Yum!

Check out these great outdoor dishes and more from our 1000 Recipes Pinterest Board.

Instant Pot Potato Corn Chowder
This savory potato corn chowder will delight your pallet and warm your tummy. Includes diced potatoes, onion, corn, butter, cheddar cheese, cream, and vegetable broth. Ooowee!

Spicy Chili
Other great outdoor dishes for your Fall Fest may include spicy chili with ground turkey, diced carrots, celery, red and green peppers, onion, red beans and seasoned with garlic, chili powder, cumin, and paprika.

Don't forget the hot drinks! We're talking a big cup of rich warm brothy egg nog, epresso, vanilla coffee, creamy maple pecan latte, caramel frappuccino, and cappuccino.

200 Pinterest Family Recipes

Whether you're snowed in or just want to fill the house with the warm and cozy scent of sweet baked grains, kids love whipping up and eating cake, cookie or cupcake batter.

Baking cakes, pies and cookies is just the sort of thing to do this time of year. The sweet anticipation of eating it up makes getting snowed a lot less tiresome and a lot more fun.

Brenda loved watching a television game show centered around healthy eating. The entire family was involved. They searched for healthy alternative cake recipes online. After finding two recipes they bought the ingredients and went to work (or play) whipping up the cake batter.  Imagine baking a delicious cake that has 80% less calories than store bought cakes and makes you feel better too!

After baking the two cakes they voted on the appearance, texture and taste. Giving each category a score from 1 to 10. It was fun to watch, but it's even more fun to do in your own kitchen with your own kids.

200 Pinterest Family Recipes

To help snowbound families with a knack for cooking and baking Brenda and I have put together a Family Recipe Box of 200 Pinterest Family Recipes featuring all sorts of fun and tasty recipes some good and healthy and just plain good tasting. The Family Recipe Box will be a permanent feature of  the Family Reunion Planner Social web app soon to be released.

Take a look at more than 100 recipes posted by fellow reunion planners and enjoy your own family bake-a-thon.

Keepsake Journal vs Family Reunion Planner

All I can say is wow!  We did it. We really did it.  A work I am truly proud of.  It's one thing to have a keepsake memento and another to have a family reunion planner, and still another to have a reunion journal. Fimark's newly released Family Reunion Planner Guide Book & Keepsake has all of that and more.

As you carry out the three stages of planning your reunion from conception to organizing to managing according to one of the four theme planners provided in this new release, you will also have the luxury of following the timeline planner because there are sections for all of that. In addition you can record the highlights of each planning stage.  There's a journal included in the planner for that.

Of course you're bound to collect some words of wisdom, support and a few recipes along with way. Yes, there's a section for that too.

Keeping a record of your experiences while planning the event will certainly contribute to meaningful content when writing the Chairman welcome letter and the opening and closing words at the luncheon/dinner program. The journal and recipe section will also provide content ideal for your next family reunion newsletter.

All things considered the planner is specifically designed to be kept, used, shared and passed on to next generation and many generations to come. Some may consider it to be an heirloom in and of itself.

So what does Fimark's newly released Family Reunion Planner not have? If you're using the Book along with the CD application I would have to say, nothing. Having said that, you really do have everything you need to plan a memorable family reunion this year and family events for decades to come.

The new hardbound and softbound planner can be ordered at Lulu.com. It is also formatted as an ebook in pdf format and as a stand alone application on CD for your laptop and desktop. You can also download it on your netbook.

Happy Family Reunion Planning!
