New Years Resolution - Family Reunion

If you're like me you can't believe 2023 has come and gone. There are scores of things I accomplished last year. Like the garden pond you see in the photo. When we moved into our new ranch style home last year I immediately started planning our flower beds and organic vegetable gardens.

The following month I built a garden pond to catch rain water.  Later that year I built a semi-circle driveway and converted the lower floor into a personal art gallery. But there are still many things to do in 2024, including the following.

1. Plan a 2024 family reunion.

2. Build a larger keepsake hope chest to add more memories.

3. Write a family history journal

4. Complete fire pit construction.

5. Build decking around the fire pit.

A great way to get things done in 2024 is to make a New Year's resolution list with your priorities near the top of the list. As you can see, I'm gearing up for many memorable gatherings this spring and summer. So what will you put on the top of your list? My 2024 priority is planning a family reunion attended by my mother and father and their three generations of progeny.

Since we are the current caretakers of the new family homestead here in PA and had our DNA ancestry processed, our reunion theme centers on genealogy, and we'll have our family gathering right here at the new homestead.

There is a wonderful family reunion theme called "Genealogy and Homestead Tour" that includes everything you need to know to throw a memorable family reunion on a home town property.  It is one of the five theme planners included in the reunion planner book "Fimark's Family Reunion Planner".

Theme: "'Genealogy and Homestead Tour' - Learn the beginnings of your roots while on tour from the deep south to the industrial north. Chart the course and travel to places that will answer questions about your family history. Visit a cemetery or grave site. Tour an historic home. Visit a restaurant. Tour the homestead town as it was in the past, and compare to what it is currently."

The book includes themed itineraries, worksheets with suggested activities, entertaining dinner/luncheon program, planning tips, slogans, logo ideas and more.
