When it comes to surviving unforeseen crisis, we don't want to leave it to chance. That said, this week I gathered the family together and we review our disaster contingencies to improve our family response to pending emergency alerts and warnings and sharpen our survival skills. I must say, I'm so glad we did!

FAMILY SURVIVAL PLANNING TIPS

Family reunions are a great opportunity to make sure everyone is on the same page as to what to do if they find themselves in the middle of an emergency situation include a natural disaster or pandemic upsurge. Gathering as a family group gives you the opportunity to consider various scenerios and address the special needs each family member has. Needs you might not normally consider when in the middle of distressing situation.

For example: There are a number of different routes to take and and a variety of things to do depending on exactly what the situation is you're contending with. But some family members cannot maneuver all escape plans and routes as other can. For that reason, always have an emergency contingency plan for each potential emergency or crisis that suits all parties involved based on age, health, handicap, etc.

So here are some quick tips and essential information links that we found very helpful, including links to kits, tools and supplies.
